Okay, I for one used to admire and respect Dennis Miller. He seemed quite educated and well read. His humour seemed well thought out, playing heavily on satire and irony. In the past I really enjoyed his liberal views and his no-nonsense approach directed at putting highly important issues into proper perspective. Miller seemed to have a gift for making a high charged political point while keeping his views funny and entertaining. But lately I’ve read and heard one too many proclamations of blind support from Miller with regard to who I thought must have been his alter-ego, George W. Bush. Is this Miller’s latest attempt at irony? Is this some kind of masked joke that only long-time followers of the comedian are supposed to understand? Then again, I suppose we need to remember that Miller is an entertainer first and foremost. If he doesn’t have an audience he won’t make money. If he were to attack Bush while so many absent-mined Americans support the jackass, I guess Miller would be out of work. Perhaps Miller just realized that there is more money to be made off idiots compared to the well-educated. I guess it’s just a mad, mad, mad, mad, mad, mad world under the control of the big Dubya.
